The Certificate IV in Hairdressing is a qualification for hairdresser’s wishing to gain recognition for attaining a more advanced level of both practical skills and theoretical knowledge. Hairdressers interested in this qualification should contact the school for an interview, The RPL process (Recognition of Prior Learning) will apply to many operators currently working in the industry and depending on the evidence the applicant is able to provide, this qualification is easily attainable. The Applicant may choose from 2 separate streams for this qualification, the Artistic stream or the Business/Management stream. The candidate will approach the school to apply for the Certificate IV in hairdressing Qualification. |
| Cost The cost of Certificate IV in Hairdressing achieved through an RPL and self evaluation process is $750.00 The candidate will provide evidence of Certificate III in Hairdressing and a current copy of WA Hairdressers registration with a payment of $500.00 to commence the procedure. |
| Procedure The School will forward a self evaluation skills audit document. The skills audit document will give examples of the evidence required to support the self evaluation. All evidence supplied to support the evaluation document must represent work completed since attaining Certificate III in Hairdressing If the candidate has completed an advanced colour course with one of the major product companies this evidence is acceptable for 2 of the UOC’s Evidence of participation in industry competition’s Platform or demonstration work Photographic material is also acceptable for 3 UOC’s If the candidate has the qualification Certificate IV Trainer and Assessor they may claim credits for 4 Units of competence relating to the training and education stream for Certificate IV in Hairdressing When the self evaluation document and the supporting evidence have been sighted, the assessor will identify skills gaps and the candidate will be advised. The final payment of $250.00 must be paid to the school and the qualification will be issued. |
