Taylorweir tuition includes a mix of practical workshops on mannequins and on clients, with written work and group discussions over a period of 24 weeks. Students will have opportunities to assist apprentices in a simulated salon environment to further enhance their salon workplace experience.

Host salons joining this program have been specially selected by Taylorweir. All of our host salons have committed to providing meaningful work experience to the Cert II student and have accepted responsibility in providing on-the-job training.

What will the Certificate II in Salon Assistant Student Learn @ Taylorweir?

The student Salon Assistant will learn the required skills and knowledge attached to this qualification in a simulated salon environment that is conducive to the success of each student.

The curriculum emphasis is on personal development and creating opportunities for a positive employment outcome.

The Design and Apply Makeup unit from the Beauty Training Package has been included in this course as an added extra unit. This will provide the Cert II student with extra skills to take with them to a salon.

To aid in positive job seeking outcomes, students are mentored in personal grooming, personal presentation and interview strategies.

“Work Placement” (Host Salon work experience) is initiated on the eighth week into the program. This experience provides the student with an insight on how a salon operates and offers the student an opportunity to decide which genre of salon is suitable to their personality and career ambitions.
